About dePapier Translations

I am Cris

Translator and interpreter, with a degree from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. I have worked full-time in translation since 2017 and I teach English as a foreign language. I founded dePapier Translations to give my clients what I would look for in their place: rigour, deadlines met, and someone on the other side who replies.

I translate English and French directly. For the remaining language pairs I rely on a team of linguists whom I coordinate and whose work I always review, editing where necessary, so the work delivered and the communication remain my responsibility.

The dePapier team

Not every project fits into two languages. For Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Korean, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian I work with trusted linguists, selected by area of expertise. I manage the project, do the final review and handle certification when it is needed. For you, only one thing changes: the range of languages. The point of contact stays the same.

What colleagues say

Besides clients, the fellow linguists I work with have also shared their view of the collaboration.

‘Cris is not only an exceptional professional but an incredible human being. Attentive, caring and thorough are just a few of the many qualities that describe her as a professional and a colleague. It is always a pleasure to work alongside her. Results-driven, Cris never gives up until the client is well looked after. Thank you for the camaraderie!’

‘Cristiana is my oldest partner, both in friendship and professionally (since the 1990s). She is the most organised and perfectionist person I know. Cris throws herself into every challenge with the utmost dedication, responsibility and professionalism.’

‘I had the pleasure of meeting Cristiana, who brought me a project to translate into German, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Cristiana is an extremely professional and open person; she put me at ease straight away, explaining every aspect of the project clearly and efficiently. I really enjoyed working with Cristiana! More projects will be very welcome… Looking forward to it!‘

Frequently asked questions

A translation accompanied by a declaration of fidelity to the original, authenticated at a Notary’s Office. It is the format required by courts, universities, registry offices and other official bodies, in Portugal and abroad.

Birth, marriage and death certificates, diplomas and academic certificates, criminal record certificates, contracts, powers of attorney, judgments and identity documents.

Send the document through the contact form, with the language pair and the deadline you need. I will reply with a no-obligation quote.

It depends on the number of words, the language pair, the complexity of the text and the urgency. That is why every quote is tailored, based on the actual document.

It varies with the length and type of document. The deadline is set in the quote and it is met. Urgent requests are assessed case by case.

Yes. For certified translation, I confirm in the quote whether the original is needed or a good-quality copy is enough.

I translate English and French directly. For the remaining pairs (Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Korean, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian, all with Portuguese) I work with a team of trusted linguists, with the same coordination and quality control.
